History

A legacy of spiritual guidance, public service and rural education.

OUR LEGACY

A vision for education that began in 1967.

In 1967, His Holiness Mallikarjun Mahaswamiji established the institution and named it after his Guru, His Holiness Shivanand Mahaswamiji. The name reflects a tradition of respect for teachers and a philosophy centred on service, peace, simplicity and spiritual values.

Shivanand Mutt, Gadag, carried these principles into practice and gave society several respected saints and spiritual leaders. Among them was His Holiness Mallikarjun Mahaswamiji, whose vision created the foundation for the college.

His Holiness Siddheshwar Mahaswamiji continued to guide the institution’s moral and cultural foundations. From 29 March 1998, the trusteeship was entrusted to his disciple, His Holiness Sangamdev Mahaswamiji, also the head of Shivayog Mutt, Examba.

His Holiness Adrushya Kadasiddheshwar Mahaswamiji has provided direction to the college as Chairman. The institution has also benefited from the guidance of Dr. Shraddhanand Swamiji, Ishtalinga Swamiji, former serviceman and Honorary Secretary Shri S. R. Patil, and Shri A. A. Patil, a retired librarian of the college.
